Yo... I'm glad I checked HR instead of going to bed. I'll regret it tomorrow, but hey... I'll sleep when I'm dead. Keith, impressive dub-step stuff, dude! I love the snare sound, and the kick is nice and punchy. I just got me a new set of HD-650 headphones, and they're gettin' broke-in finally. Your stuff sounds awesome through em'. They almost make my Rokits sound mushy, which is kind of scaring me. Anyway...
Another great Keith-esque masterpiece of electronica! Great to hear you writing again, man. Sure it's not trance, but it's still awesome. You inspire me to keep working on understanding the "electronic" workflow... Now I've just gotta quit playing my drums long enough to actually learn something.
Yow - I second the need to tame the snare, K. When an element gets in the way and you have to listen "around it" to hear the other stuff ... but though you may try, it's keep butting in the conversation -- then it's probably too dominant. It takes up all the air in the room. Other than that, very interesting piece.
Cool - sounds good. Real good use of panning and stereo spread. Some movement and ping-ponging without over-doing it. Cool on earbuds. Tonal balance is pleasing.
No real criticisms, but maybe a suggestion. The low end is held together mostly with the kick. Maybe try a baseline throughout?
KC, I bypassed any electronica until Yours arrived. Habit wrecker! Taste changer!
I love it...sounds killer on my headphones ..like the comment that it reminded listener (Heatmiser) of playing defender, that 2:00 mark is really cool...not the usual kind of music I listen to, but this kept me engaged , I like the sounds you get!
Hey thanks man....Im still finding the beat boring but as no one else has mentioned it I guess Ill just leave it
A guy I know in the business says I make stuff for soundtracks/backing music...not really what I was aiming for but I can see his point...glad you enjoyed it and the mix didnt bring up anything untoward![]()
I like it very much. I have no idea how one would go about putting such a tune together, but I like the overall tone and approach.
Nice work, Mr. Earl.
cheers Casey...this ones kinda just an atmosphere...Ive got a new one further down the page if your ears get a few mins
Its going to be the first one I send off to get pro mastered so it would be nice to get some more opinions
thanks man
