I am having major issues here.
I have the studio tracks done, now all I want to do is add the vocals.
When I do. It sounds "Karaoke" How can I get the vocals to "BLEND" with the mix.
I have the Firepod 8 mic Pre and Cubase.
I do use Audition 2.o on the side. But generally use Cubase.

E-mail me for one of my new songs I arranged, recorded, mixed, and added vocals.
Not sure what I did wrong.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

EQ, compression, reverb, delay, etc. may all help. There is no one right answer.

And panning.

Using a little of the same reverb on all the tracks helps, sometimes. Especially, if you're doing a lot of DI tracks.

Getting the right vocal take is the key, in my opinion

Even if you have a vocal take that is perfectly on key and recorded with the best mic in the best room, if it doesnt have the right feel for the song nothing will make it fit.

Once you have that nailed it still might sound a little thin especially if you have some belted out high notes or extremely soft or lower notes. In that case use a little compression to help it fit, but dont go too extreme. Just use whatever sounds good and what the song calls for
