If supertramp rocked really hard, they'd sound like this... WONDERFULLY written song, and the performances are your usual levels of spectacular... No nits there...
On the mix, a few questions:
1) On my main studio setup, which can be bottom heavy, I noticed a certain 70s-esquebottom end rolloff; almost like <60HZ is dropped off the table. Is this patina by design? It doesn't rumble much at all. Not saying that's a bad thing, just wondering.
2) I'm with Rami, you're close to the edge on the cymbals. They don't stray over, but the hats are right on the precipice of fuzzy.
3) Not a lot of dynamic range for something with the delicately chosen areas of sparseness, is the whole master clamped down?
4) I'm being deliberately granular here since you specifically asked; enjoyment levels are VERY high. I really love your writing style. I'd love to someday try a mix/master of the raw tracks of one of yours one day.
5) Love the soundfield placement choices, especially on the vocals. I think I could learn a lot from you on this part.
Bravo!!!
P.S. "My compression method"?
