Naming Tracks on cd

Ok I got the wav files named... I load them into Nero and burn a cd... Whered the names go? Now instead of being the track names its Track 01, 02, and so on...

My question is I see a lot of cds that have the artist name and title of the song when it is put into the car stereo. Anyone know how to do that?

It's called the CD-TEXT option. I don't know if programs like Nero, etc. support it. It's normally found in standard PQ editing software (Wavelab, Samplitude, CD Architect, etc.).

Both software and cd recorder need to be able to handle 'CD Text'. For example:

I took a quick look at the Nero site but for the life of me can't figure out if their software has cd text capabilities - it's a redbook extention so not all apps will have it. Last time I checked Sony CD Architect didn't.

ED: hehe Dropped in at the same time as you Massive...maybe CDA has it now, I haven't updated my copy since the Sony takeover - it was a sore point that the feature was missing for so long...

Roxio Easy Cd creator has a feature that allows you to edit track tags (what you are referring to), and even windows media player will allow you to edit the tags. Try to open them in one of those, create a song list, and burn them from the program. It should work.

Try finding a CD Ripper program. You can most likely download it for free trial period and if you like it, I think it should only cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $29.95 USD

Yes, Nero supports CD-Text.

I guess that's right. When I enter track tags in roxio, windows media player recognizes it, but I don't have anything else that displays the song title, like a car stereo, so I thought it was universal.

When I use Roxio version 5, I make sure to select the 'Disc at once' option and not 'Track at once'. This un-ghosts the 'Write CD Text' checkbox and I make sure it is checked.
All of my CD titles, including individual track names, appear on my car stereo display...

I cannot refer you to the manual, as I do not have one. However, if I remember correctly, it was already set as a default.
