I'm was thinking about picking up some of the Naiant mics just to play with, and I came across the Karma K-Micros. Does anybody have any experience with the K-Micros? They look similar to the Naiants so I was wondering how close they are in terms of sound?
I know the Naiants are hand made, so that's a plus in my book. What do you guys think?

I'd suggest going with something known. Also if anything goes wrong with the naiant(s), the owner lurks in here(i think ).

i've had both (msh-1o's and k-micros). both are great values for the money and perform well beyond their cost. i know that karma recently upgraded the k-micros to tolerate higher spl. i'm not sure if they are now balanced output, but before they were not. they have also raised the price significantly (doubled the price for a matched pair), but i haven't tried the improved version.
ime they sound similar-- small diaphragm, accurate, relatively flat response, though the naiants now come in a variety of flavors.

I've had nothing but good experiences with the Naiant company and with the owner himself-he even offers technical info about the mics as well. For acoustic instruments, Naiant condensors are really nice. Guitar and mandolin record great with them.

I bought the K-micros before I heard about the MSH mics. The K-micros sound okay they can get a little silibant depending on the source. Not sure if it's the same with MSH's.

When it comes time for some more sdc's there's no doubt what I will go with.
