I walk the line
Has anyone here used n-tracks with an AMD K6-2 cpu? I know the n-tracks website recommends against it, but I was wondering if anyone had tried it. Unfortunately, a new PC doesn't seem to be in my immediate future.

I did for about two or three days...when I get past three tracks it never would sync (broke)...I went out and got new mother board cpu and more mem....PIII 733 128megs of ram and I cant remember the name of the board...I got the computer to do a total of 40 tracks no lag :)

I ran it on a K6-2 400 and it sucked. Very slow. This will be true of all audio recording software you use on that processor.

Now, before people jump my back, YES, you can use it. Yes n-Track will run. Yes, you can record more than one track.

AMD duron?

People have been telling me the new AMD processors are actualy better for audio than p3s or the p4s that will be coming out. They say the Duron has better floating point handling than intel processors. Any of you have an opinion on this?

stick with the P3 or P4 if you dont your going to run in to some hardware problems
