Hi everyone.
I am getting ready to purchase a synth, and was wondering if I can use the synth in N-track to do the sequencing, editing, etc.

Also what type of midi cable would I need? I have a S.B. Live soundcard.

Thanks for any help.

Same deal here, cept cheaper I think.

These cables have two ends (obviously :D) each end having an in and an out. Another supplier is found here.

almost anyting would be better than N-Track for sequencing......I do my midi tracks in either Digital Orchestrator Plus or Power Tracks Pro and then bring them into N-Track......but i rarely do much Midi......

if the majority of your work is going to be sequencing/midi, you might wanna try something else.......

Um yeah, n-track kinda hates MIDI BTW...it crashes quite a bit with it. Of course Flavio is constantly improving the program, but for now the MIDI portion is kinda hurtin.

Would something like music creator work? I seen they have a music pack 2003, comes with m. creator, and some other stuff plus a pc midi cable for like $45
The cable itself is gonna cost me about $20

Any thoughts?

If that music creator thing is part of cakewalk, I know lots of people around here use it to great success with their MIDI. I for one am not one of those :(.

My personal suggestion at this point is to try the search function to find a little more info on what you are looking for.

Yes it is a cakewalk product. I'll try a search like you suggested. Thanks for the help and info.

Thanks Gidge, I've been looking at that also. Ya really can't beat the price on it. Plus they give you several plug-ins which seems cool.

I think I may go with homestudio.

Thanks again

Since I've decided to purchase H.S. to do alot of sequencing/midi with, would there be any major additional benefits to use N-track also?
If not, does N-track allow license transfers?
