John, are you building this place for you and your musicians own personal use or is this being built for some-1 else like a client???. It's REALLY looking GREAT!!!!!

It's for a client Mr Q - I'll do one for you if you like, just send me the airfare to NY and feed me for a few weeks:):):)

cheers
John

How much do you charge?

John, how much do you charge for your service? Given, the person flies you to where they need you. Some day I may want to get into consulting too, that would be a blast, I just have no idea what to charge. Since there isn't much of a market for studio building consultants around my area the demand isn't too high, but when someone REALLY wants a studio it seems they'll pay anything. $75 an hour? Somewhere around there?

We should get like 10-15 hr.com members and do a world tour. Get an old school bus and drive to all of the 10-15 members studios and help them out. We could crash at their place, fix up their studio, and off to the next place. Great bonding experience, cheap labor, and we could design some rad studio! I'm game if anyone else is!

Yeah man,the only problem is if the studio we build is fantastic,I might not want to let it go and keep it all to myself!

BTW, the scanner at Kinko's is broken and I refuse to pay upwards of $10.00 or more just to scan 3 pictures, therefore I'm checking around to see if I can get it done for free here at my office!

Yo wally - but it couldn't just be all blokes - pleeeease!!!
gotta have some fluff in there somewhere. Maybe we could entice Flier away from ED.

Hang in there Q - don't the police have scanners???

cheers

Where do you live? John lives in Autralia, we can't exactly take a bus to his place :) I live in Wisconsin.

I'd chip in to get him to the U.S.! You may think I'm joking, but I'm not. I'd love to drive around the us or any country helping build and designing studios!

Hey Wally - what airline should I use?? - no you choose..as you're paying :)

Right now by myself I could afford to fly you over in a small box in the belly of a cargo plane, or maybe in a good size wooden crate in a ship 3rd class! Do you plan to be in the states anytime in the near future? I sure would like to meet you. I hope I don't sound gay.

, or maybe in a good size wooden crate in a ship 3rd class!

That's how I got from NZ to OZ - don't think I'd wanna do it to the US though.

Would seriously like to visit the US again though - had a great time last trip and have fond memories of the people and the country....gotta put my lotto ticket in again ;)

cheers

john...that hemp cloth you are using behing the slats...what's that all about?? does it catch fire and what would happen if you accidentally inhaled the smoke??

studio looks good so far.

John - I really like the wood work and the design of the slats. Looks awesome! Thanks again for sharing this project and your knowledge ... and for posting all of the HR studio pics! So much great info has come from it.

mixmkr - heheh 'accidentally' ... yeah right! ;) ... seriously you can't get high from hemp cloth. Not that I've tried or anything! :D
