My Teac Tascam 32 has an unusual problem

Fixing to change the belt when the FF and WW motors stop working on the back tension. Take up working fine. Works OK in Play. Anybody had this problem?

Blown motor feed resistor? First thing to do is find a full service manual for the beast.

Q544 sends 24v to r656 were 5v is suppose to feed Q556, but it is only 2.5v . I find no reason. The other motor gets 1.6 to Q560 through bias thats why no back tension motor......you can reverse and put it in rewind 2.5v goes to bottom and 1.6v to the top. The 1.6v will not run the motors for back tension. Motors run fine in FF and RR take up

Bit tricky to offer any diagnosis without a schematic of at least that area of the circuit. You can't expect peeps on forums to have access to such data?
