Hey guys, I just recorded some drums and bass. I mixed it and bounced it. Its still in .wav because i am having a hard time playing it though realplayer, windows media, or music match, let alone convert it. This hasnt really happened to me before. I have been recording 24/96k for the hell of it, I am not sure but it might be the problem. Looking at the wav file, it is 4608kb and 115 mg. This number seems real big to me. Is there a way, even though i have the tracks already, to bounce it down to 24, 44.1 without the speed getting changed, I had that problem before. I am getting a codec error, where the song pops up, but the play button is all grayed out. Thanks in advance for help.

When you say "bounce" do you mean "export"? Try exporting it as a .wav if you haven't already, and see what happens.

Your media player may not support 24-bit playback. CD's are 16-bit/44.1k, so, unless you're sending tracks for mastering, you should export at 16/44.1 for burning cd's and/or converting to mp3 for internet posting, etc.

If you are planning to send the tracks for mastering, export the pre-masters at 24/96 and burn them to a data disc for the mastering engineer. He/she will take care of truncating/dithering and sample rate conversion for the master.

Cool guys, i will take that into consideration. And yes, i do mean audio export. Ya well what i am doing exactly is recording drum tracs for someone. They are gonna use my tracks in ther project and layer stuff on top. Will i still be able to export to 16/44.1 without the time being sped up?. I also made several recordings using 24 bit that worked, maybe it is the 96k that is doing the corruption. I will figue something out.
