Aha I didn't think it would work.

I plugged my microphone to a guitar amplifier, than connected the amp's headphone slot to my computer's recording slot.

How bad of an idea is that? lol

You're right! Aside from the 60hz hum ("feedback" ) and distortion it's almost nearing the quality of a high priced Sony tape recorder mic from Walmart.
