...is going to be this Samick copy of a PRS that costs three times as much. It's called the Ultramatic.
This is a quality guitar with a set neck, Grover tuners, and optional Wilkinson trem.

I played one of these and it's the sweetest guitar I've ever laid my hands on... now, I gotta have it.
The Ultramatic is a phenomenal value at around $700 U.S.

Don't take my word for it.
Read the reviews of those who own one.

A "PRS killer" for a third of the price.

This guitar is going to be MINE!!!!! ;)

Great! keep us post on how you like it, Bucky! ;)

Since I have a Fender copy and LP copy, this would be a good choice to me collections. :)

I just found out it'll take a month to get my new Ultramatic from the distributor. :(

Hey again.. Buck, please PM with info on which distributor you purchased it from. In addition to being in the market for a new amp, I'm looking for a new guitar. Thanks!

I ordered my guitar through a little guitar shop in the Chicago suburb of Worth, Illinois called "Player's Guitars."

If you're really interested, they can beat the lowest price you can find on the Ultramatic.
The lowest I've seen on the internet for the UM3 (hardtail version) is US$499.
These guys can do it for US$450.

The cheapest I've seen for the UM4 (which has the Wilkinson Tremolo) is US$535.
These guys can do it for about US$485.

That's $50 cheaper on both guitars.

Not bad, eh? ;)

If interested, I'll PM you with their phone# and the guy who you should talk to.

alright, thanks. i just wanted an overview of how you purchased it. at the moment i'm concentrating on picking out a new amp, so i'll get back to you later if i have any further questions.

thanks

I ordered a natural finished mahogany Godin LG about 4 weeks ago. I'm trying to be a good, patient little (big) boy, but about once a week I have to go HERE just to look and read about it. :D

UPDATE: (...er, sort of)

Yesterday I saw a Samick Ultramatic (UM 4) on ebay that had a "Buy It Now" price of $275.

The bidding was over in less than 3 hours because some lucky person scooped it up IMMEDIATELY for that super-low asking price.
The seller was a pawnshop in Columus, OH that deals exclusively in jewelry, so they probably had no idea that they had such a nice guitar... and they sold it for a VERY low price.

The guitar was "near mint", with a blue flame-top, Wilkinson tremolo and Grover tuners.

Some lucky stiff got a good one for a "steal."

Thanks for the Congrats Buck. I didnt even want the thing , but knowing that you wanted it was enough to convince me that I needed to ruin your day even more than I wanted a new axe. Im probably going to give it to my ten year old nephew. He loves to Break stuff.:D

It would be quite amazing that someone from Kansas could even afford to pay $275 for a guitar.... especially since your entire state budget doesn't even break a thousand bucks.;):D

Geez Buck - a new Marshall amp and now a new Samick? Way to go man! ;) The waiting is the hardest part - T Petty

Man, that Marshall AVT50 sounds sweet! :D I'm having second thoughts on selling my Fender Princeton Chorus. It might be handy to keep it around for recording - a second guitar track with a different flavor - and for giving lessons.

What's next on your got to have it list?!

BACK OFF BUCK, we do have nice guitars in Kansas (just kidding)...

I am looking at buying a new guitar pretty soon, I can't quite decide on

ES-135 (they discontinued the model so I really don't want to wait and buy one on Ebay next year for 1200 instead of 900)

Brian Moore i2P single cut

or another Godin LG (mine is an older one with humbuckers, but I want a guitar with P90s)

decisions, decisions... maybe it will come to me in a dream (hopefully with some of the ladies from the 2003 Guitar World Buyers Guide WOO HOO!!!)
