Sounds decent. Levels of everything seem right to my ear.

Fairly repetitive though.

Thank you, would you say its repetitive in a bad way? how bad? thanks

Very good! An excellent balance of all the different sounds. Dealing with arpeggiation timing is one of the hardest things to make it all mesh together. This really shows of your producer skills.

Nice work!

Thank you, glad you like it. Its probably my best track i think for some time. Thank you... both of you

Mix wise its not bad at all

It does sound like a construction kit that you may have added some of your own elements too

Theyre good sounds, and correct me if Im wrong, but the restrictions show....its the same pattern repeated over 8 bars throughout, all that changes is you add or change an element almost like using a mute button

when youre going to use the same beat try to stop it every now and then, like right before the riser into the next element...just for a few beats..its adds some tension, and it could prolly do with another sound just after the breakdown, maybe a lead sound or something just to differentiate

but you are getting the mix sounding not bad at all, the kicks a little loud and the synth coming in at 0.56 could come down as well a little

otherwise good job, every tracks an improvement....like us all lol

Thanks, this entire track was made from scratch so no construction kits, loops or samples were used what so ever. So i take that as a compliment ;)

Yeh i do agree about the reptitivity, its something which i need to work on for future productions.

then great...you're really progressing, some good sounds in there

you dont have to change to much to stop the repetitiveness...just change a couple of notes at the end of each bar, try using harmones or detuning between two synths playing at the same time...dont be afraid to use silence either

nice to hear more electronic in here :)

its the same pattern repeated over 8 bars throughout

With all due respect, that is why this genre is called trance music. Trance partly has its roots (or at least applies to the same principles as) in shaman drumming where repetition is the whole point. As we get into, let's say, around 140bpm 16th-notes, like most psy-trance (which is actually my preferred subgenre of trance) it is supposed to tune into a specific rhythm of brainwaves. It is a relatively scientific genre.

My point is that if repetition is lost, so is the whole value of trance.

Great song dude, even if I prefer the more psychedelically oriented stuff. I really liked the sound of the kick (do you call it a 'kick' in electronic music? I play rock mostly).

you misinterpreted me...I meant its the exact same pattern...most trance Ive heard there are slight variations in the pattern or elements being added throughout

not that Im in any way a expert on the genre, and thats why comments on arrangements in here have to be taken at face value

Im sure some minimalist drones wouldnt appeal to all

Yes its still called a kick in electronic music. Thanks everyone for the feedback as always.

There's a diff between repetition and trance induction and boredom isn't always a soporific.
If the repetitive elements haven't induced a trance then it isn't is it?
Continuous beat with slightly morphing rhythm is fine. making the slight changes to the rhythmic elements at the end of a phrase or section & repeating that phrase/section later on in the structure isn't throwing out the Downer with the MDA is it?
