i bought a new saddle for my acoustic guitar, and it is a bit shorter than the groove in my bridge, as you can see in my picture. can i still use this saddle?
I wouldn't worry about it. Center it - the downward string tension will keep it in place, if you want you could stick some spacers (matchsticks might work well) into the gap on each end, maybe use a drop of silicone to hold 'em in place.
thanks for the extra confidence... i centered it and my guitar has never sounded better. i just feel dumb for never having changed the saddle in the 6 years that i've owned it.
