Dogman Unkle Ticklefingers Dec 30, 2005 #2 I thought it had more bottom, but maybe on my voice, it's just lower mids? It actually seems to be very normal, and my MXL is a bit more high-end happy. Accentuates the high a little. I also have a Nady, which seems to just be louder...

B Big Kenny New member Dec 30, 2005 #4 I find the 4040 to be pretty flat, what goes in comes out. Not a bad thing at all really, gives you something to do with your outboard gear.

T trenttati New member Dec 30, 2005 #7 My AT4040 always sounds a little heavy in the low-mid range. For vocals in a mix I nearly always use the low-end roll off on the mic.
