Mixing at low volume, 'listen from the other room', hmm and adding broad band noise', that's a new one, but sort of along similar ideas I suppose.
My noise injection' is jumping on 50 East...
I've always done the "listening from another room" thing. If something sticks out too far when you are in another room, it's too loud. Never tried the fan trick.
