Martin D35; I miss mine.:( Glad you got the D15 set up to your liken.

Just got me a vintage D28 big booming sound gonna be great for the stuff I play but then again I never was into mid rangy modern sounds anyway.

A Martin 000, you say?

I'm going to be taking a trip to NYC in two weeks, think I'll try em out among others at Umanov's:

Hopefully this is the same as the 000s you are talking about (as I really don't want to buy a vintage acoustic - too much upkeep and concern - I'll worry myself over a new toy thanks :D)

Seems like a reasonably priced line, considering its a new Martin. I'd be okay with a dominant bass, if it were even enough, since you can roll that off a bit and just apply some gentle EQ cut - my experience has always been that some notes on the low A & E simply don't resonate, and others are like canon shot. Guess I've gotta try out more guitars before buying next time :)

Try some OM's. They are made to be very well balanced. And try some Larrivees.

Well,

Just got back from my local luthier. I had to take my SG Junior in for a setup, and I brought my D-15 in with me. Long story, but I had sanded the original saddle too much when I first got the guitar, he made me a new one in December, it was still too high, he then sanded it down .4 mm, and today another .2 mm. The touch on this guitar now isn't too far away from that on my Taylor, no buzzes or anomalous noises, and plays and sounds like a dream. This guy is a master builder, and he is very free and generous with his time and expertise. He didn't even charge me today for the saddle filing as well as filing the nut at the B string, which was pinching the string. It really is a pleasure to see someone who really knows their stuff do their thing. He gets all of the business from the 7 or so stores in the vicinity, and is not lacking for customers. His workshop was wall to wall guitars, but he still took the time to do this gratis, and to diagnose the problems with the SG.

Very Cool indeed!

I'm a bit partial to Martins myself... (I started a little guitar forum for Martin guitars a few years back www.umgf.com ).

My fave is my D35. Stunning... I use it on all of my recordings, though sometimes I use a D18 too.
