My girlfriend's telepathic - a challenge?

I like that wah guitar sound. Drums sounded fine to me. Vocal is pretty cool, reminded me of Stan Ridgeway in parts. The song itself is quite good although I thought it could use more of a change up in the chorus
 
Pretty original tune and voice.
The one thing that stuck out to me was that very trebley guitar (more to the left?), it's too loud or needs to be EQ'd differently, it tends to drown everything else out. Good work, though.

You are right and I have a HORRIBLE feeling that my "chorus" would actually work better as a middle8 and that I need to write a whole new chorus (short, catchy and "up changing"). What do people think?

Also - there is no "wah guitar". There is a heavily distorted synth and some picky guitar in the background. Did you mean the synth? Good sound isn't it? Very easy to do.
 
I'm not entirely sure you know what "telepathic" means. You're definitely describing telekinesis, prescience, and possibly some kind of electrokinesis.
Oh wait... you do describe her as "telekinetic." Carry on then. :D

It's a good song. I enjoyed it.

The distorted synth gets a little tiresome by the end. That voice could use a little more variety or a little less prominence.

I can't really speak to the drums since those are my weak spot too, but they sounded OK to me.
 
Well, guys, this feedback is amazing - really useful - thank you all. I am definitely going to tame that beast of a synth riff.

I am also toying with an alternative chorus because the current one has been bugging me for a while and, as someone pointed out, it doesn't really do a proper job of being a chorus. I have some new words...

Venus girls all look real nice
Girls from Mars have got a slutty kind of charm
Mercureans are awfully kind
But you're the one who blows my mind
My telepathic girlfriend

Well you probably need to hear the tune. It's a bit more catchy. Let me know if you have a strong preference for the "I never wanted an ordinary kind of girl" version.

ps. I just noticed that Venus rhymes with Penis. Well I'll be darned, I missed a trick, there!

Also, I realize that this girl is telepathic, telekinetic AND prescient. But this is not unusual for girls from her particular planet.

At one point she was psychokinetic which sounds better than the rest of them, but no one knew what it meant.

I hadn't spotted the electrokinetic powers - I'll have to ask her about that later - she's not always that forthcoming about these things.

She has this uncanny ability of coming back from the dead, as well.
 
I really like the guitar sounds. I like how the synth meshes with guitars. Love the song title.

I didn't care for the vocal performance. It's more just a style thing. Don't worry about it. :D

Drums get buried in spots.
 
It was the line about shutting off your TV or something like that? Sounds like electrokinesis to me.
