seriously??

Im surprised it sounds this good considering what you used!

the mix is clear, the playing good...the drums are low, more kick please...you lose the timing on the guitar part when to are playing the falling notes but Im sure you can hear it...but fuck it, for a first recording really well done

now invest a few bucks in an audio interface..and try Reaper as a recording programme (DAW)..Ive got a feeling you might end up quite good at this :)

Yes seriously!!!!
I was surprised how clear it came out. Im still trying to get used to recording with a metronome, its a bitch getting everything timed perfect.

About the kick drum, Im having trouble boosting the lows without distorting my speakers, so maybe its my speakers, I mixed it with a pioneer home theater system. lol. Studio monitors are next on my list, then an audio interface.

thanks dude!

haha...well we all have to start somewhere..I think I was using a sony mini hifi at first

just remember when you are mixing/recording its not about pushing the faders...keep everything around -12db peaking at say -9db (just an example) and you'll give yourself headroom...its the clipping thats distorting the sounds...even home theatre systems can handle plenty of bass;)

Id put a small audio interface at the top of you list....monitors that are worth any salt cost quite a bit...you'll get by on some speakers and/or cans to begin with but an audio interface is imperative..garbage in = garbage out..they can start pretty cheaply if you're on a tight budget...look at things like Line 6 or Tascam US-122, these can go for very little on fleabay

aaahhhhhhhh I see .... I had it at -3db and louder!

Ill screw around with it a bit now, and keep my eye out for a cheap interface on ebay.

much appreciated!

+1 on reaper, or use whatever comes with your interface to start. With your interface, if you can, get a pair of Sennheiser HD280 headphones, they cost about $100 bucks and can be used with your pioneer system to tide you over until you can afford the real deal.

You are playing $1000 sound into a ten cent audio chip? This must be corrected! But PLEASE PLEASE dont stop making music while you wait to get your gear! too many of us have fallen into that trap...
