Hey guys, I'm a big ol' noob and I just joined the forum.

Here is a link to my first drum cover that I recorded. I'm just learning how to record things, and I was wanting some feedback as to how this sounds!

I just realized it might have been best to upload the drum track only, which I will do when I get home from work.
I'm planning on recording some stuff with my band soon, and I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Thanks for listening!

sometimes you click on links around here and get a total different surprise of sounds, etc. The jungle birds on the side stages were interesting. I love synths...no matter how retro.
Sounds a little harsh and if I sounded this good as a noob... I change my name to Geo. Martin or sumpin, by now.
Stereo drums would be cool, as they seem obviously mono to the jungle birds and the cool synths.

The drums sound great. What they do in a mix with a band may differ though....

Thanks guys! What do you mean by it may differ in a full band? Like are you referring to having issues with everything cutting through the mix?

Ido doesn't know...he plays a strat like me.

Therefore I'll jump in and answer for him...I think he means ...yes...band dependent, ...how you EQ, stereo-ize them, volume amounts, verbs, mix, etc will impact to a huge degree what you really might want to do. In certain contexts, like Ido, I agree these drums could work well. However I like stereo at least as a min.

Yeah, I'm eager to get a chance to do some experimenting with my band and see how that turns out. The only reason I didn't set this as stereo is because I only had one overhead and a kick and snare mic. I just got another mic stand, so I'll make another recording this weekend and try to make something halfway decent in stereo. My understanding is just pan the left overhead to like 9 o'clock, and the right to 3? I'm probably far off.
