O.K. here's the deal. I'm pretty new around here, but I've been lurking for a while. I do all my recording on a BR-8. All the instruments you hear are me, except the drums which I programmed on a DR-5. Now here's the funny thing. I am at work and just converted my song from a cd to mp3, but there's no speakers here. I haven't heard the mp3. Hopefully I did it right, as I'm not real good with the computer. Anyway, there's no vocals on this song being as how I can't sing. Check it out www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2006&alid=-1

I just saw your boss.
He wants you to come to his office. :)

Good thing you don't have speakers at work.
You'd of never pulled it off.

Sounds real good to me.
No one can sing if ya listen to what they say.

Sing, man. Add some vocals to it.
When we laugh you'll never hear us.

We have a winner in the "best song he's never heard" category":D

I liked it a lot. Is it me or could the drums use a little reverb? I can't hear the kick as much as I'd like either.

I bought a pair of headphones so I could listen to the MP3 clinic submissions at work, your song is the first one I used them on.

Good musicianship, tight performance. I'm looking forward to hearing more of your stuff.

Sounds pretty dern good pardner! That snare (main drum sound) is a tad too much in yer face for me, but everyone tells me to bring up the drums in my stuff. Good tuff-ass sounding tune though. Nice 1'st job!

thanks guys, As for the kick, I agree. I listen in my car and I can definitely feel it, but I think there's not enough presence on it or something. It doesn't cut through the mix on smaller speakers.
Now, who wants to be a singer

I'll ramble as I listen. Nice intro...love the glimpse of the guitar then the attack. This would be a BLAST to sing on.
I'd bring that cymbal (ride?) down before the HR Drum Nazi's start firing at ya. Great guitar sound. Let me know if you'd like some vocals on this. It would be a lot of fun.

Great tune. I'll give it a more critical listen when I'm in a more critical mood :)

I definitely want some vocals. Plus I have more crap like this in various states of completion. As for getting more critical, don't feel too rushed or anything. Thanks everyone for the support!

One note of criticism. The crashes are all over the place and definetly not where a drummer would play them.

Kick ass tune though.

The mp3 conversion seems to have worked fine. Nice guitar ... it would be nice to hear a wailing lead at some point, say, coming in at around 2:30.

I don't think the rhythmic stops and starts at the beginning and end work, and the drum machine just sounds so much like, well, a drum machine;)

Nice tune mbuster
Put something in there for vox
In this key you don't need to sing high. This tune would fly with a nice deep growl.
If you can't do that then slam it with effects !:D

Seriously, It wouldn't take much to add vox to this, and I can't sing either. I do have a BR8 and there are a ton of voice patches in there that could work.
Give it a shot, it's a ton easier than waiting for a singer.

Too late. Zee drum nazis are here. You papers please. Oh, a one hitter vill do. Bring the kick WAY up. I might have picked a different snare sound but what the heck. Other than that, put vocals on it. I like it.

tite dude.. nice work.
T R just said it. Needs a lil more mmmpph from the kick and i`d marry it and the bass, maybe a lil deeper snare. I`d like to hear the 2nd guitar wails jus a lil louder..

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I guess I could attempt some feeble vocals. It may take awhile. I'll post my modifications when they are completed.

Sounds really good here!
The guitar tone is great, how did you record it?
Nice playing.

This would definitly cause a heard of antelope,(not sure about Bison),to run off a cliff!:D

Cool stuff, looking foward to hearing more!

Pete

This is the makings of a nice tune. It needs a high energy vocal track (easier said than done - I know).

Good guitar work and sound. I agree with Rat - I can barely hear the kick.

Good job. Start writing and singing. :D

yeah, go ahead and sing please! this one has room for a lot vocally i think. i really enjoyed it.

Sounded good! I also think the kick needs more thump but I can hear it, I like the riff alot! Sounds killer!

Most of my songs I got recorded are instrumentals, EVERYONE says DUDE! You need some vocals, so finaly I said FUCK IT and did some vocals, my voice SUCKS!! but I think people like it better with the vocals then without, even if they aint that good. Who knows maybe you will sound good?

I dont like to sing so I gotta throw everyone out of the house and be all alone to do it lol....

Anyway I liked your song, it sounded good. The riff is wicked but I'd really like to hear a solo in it somewhere, I think it would set it off something really wicked!

D.S.

Thanks everybody. As far as the vocals go, I haven't had much opportunity to try. There's no way I'm doing it while my girlfriend is home. I'm still trying to keep up the illusion that I'm "cool". I have tried it before, though, and I think with enough takes I could piece together something usable, But my mic sucks. It's hard to make a shitty voice through a shitty mic sound other than shitty. I'm about to upload tha same song in 320kb MP3 right now, plus a couple of earlier songs I did before I knew the ins and outs of the br-8.
