OK- Now it's time to take a poke at Richie. God knows I've been brutal on those rare occasions when I had something to say. Understand this. The cut is not *mixed*. It is a mono house mix. There is absolutely no panning, no EQ, no reverb, no compression. I could easily make this stuff sound better, but I'm trying to get clean dry tracks for Littledog to mix up pretty. The whole project is almost ready for the mixing engineer, so I'll give you tracks as they become ready. The acoustic was recorded with a single AKG C414B-ULS into Avalon AD2022 into a Roland VS1824CD. Main vox with B.L.U.E. Kiwi into the Avalon. Carolyn's vocal was done with an Oktava MK319 into a Joemeek twinQcs, with the optocompressor engaged, but disabled (ratio 1:1). In other words, I used it as a filter. Studio Projects C-4's X-Y for overheads, into the Joemeek. Snare was mic'd with the 414 on top, padded like a mother (40dB) into the Avalon, and Shure SM7B underneath, into DBX386, then by S/PDIF to the recorder. Kick is AKG D112 also into the Avalon. Fretless bass direct into the Avalon.
For those of you who are old hippies, the song is *very* loosely based on a song by Paul Kantner called "Martha" from Jefferson Airplane's 1967 album "After Bathing at Baxter's". My brother wrote the words the day he listened to "Bark" by Jefferson Airplane, and realized the band was finished. I put it to music. The tuning is DADDAD, the same tuning Stephen Stills used on "4+20" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes". I hope y'all enjoy listening as much as I have enjoyed laying down these tracks. Let the games begin! Here's the link.-

Peace- Richie
P.S.- I'm technochallenged, so if the link doesn't work, just go to nowhereradio.com and search Richie Monroe.
We also left out a credit for Bill Van Pelt, who played the fretless bass. We'll fix it in the morning. The drummer is the board's own Rimshot. God, it is sooo cool to have "staff".-Richie
