Ok, here is a link to my first attempt at mixing and recording EVER! Please give a listen and tell me what I need to improve on. I am sure it is everything... There are no vocals yet, but hopefully I will get them down soon. I am recording with Sonar 3 Producer Edition, using Spectrasonics Stylus and Atmosphere, and using Sonar's plugins. I WISH I could afford those Waves!!

Dude, next time please post songs on the MP3 Mixing Clinic forum.

Sorry, new here. I thought a newbie forum would suffice - my bad! ;)

Hmmm the link didnt work for me yesterday late at night. But now its working.

I really like it. Sounds very clear but it was kinda long for that kind of music. I didnt really find a climax either. But overall its sounds great.

It sounds like you mixed it on headphones, dude.

Just kidding, the link didn't work for me either.

(I was posting yesterday on your thread about the 1010 and headphones)

Cool song. It sounds very muffled and the overall level is pretty low but it's a good start.

Glad ya liked it... I guess it is kinda long - probably definitely seems that way since there are no vocals hehe... :) I am gonna start reworking it just as soon as I get my Waves plugins!

Thanks for listening! :)

the intro before the guitars to me is what feels too long- not the song as a whole.

If I wasn't patient I would have closed the song figuring it was basically the same thing as the beginning with only slight variations the entire time. But I waited and guitars appears and drums and it was cool.

Just snip at the intro.

that's just my opinion of song, not the actual mix- since I'm not all that good at mixing myself yet.
