I was thinking the same thing about the vocals volume.

I agree a lot is personal taste, but I think the changes suggested have all made the track sound a lot more professional. I thought it sounded pretty pro when I first posted, but it sounds a ton better now!

LOL thats what happens. You listen to your own song enough times you become ear blind to things that sound off...to the point that you know that it's the way its supposed to sound. Thats what is good about this forum...people who have nothing invested in YOUR song can give you a new perspective and unbiased ear.

The third mix is way better than your first mix...great job on it. I do think the bass is still alittle "boomy" in the sub frequencies. Don't be afraid to high-pass it to roll off those low low frequencies. But you did a good job pulling the mids so they can be heard better to give them a little more definition.

Third mix is sounding better. I guess it was the solo that I was hearing since it's not in the other mixes.

General balance of instruments is sounding pretty good.

Yeah, the bass does blend into the guitar, but since it's not doing much distinct from the guitar, it doesn't really need to stick out.

As far as the mix, I find nothing really wrong with it. But I'm no expert myself. Good work. The actual song is a little too eccentric for me in lyrical content, but I'm and old school fuddy-duddy. lol. I loved the guitars! Keep rockin' on!

Thanks for the comments! I agree about the lyrics, hahah, but it is an old song that 19 year old me wrote. I think the mix is just about right, other than the vocals. I'm gonna bring those down a little bit, and I think it'll be good to go.

Nice song with nice attitude.
I think the drums stereo image is to wide. And the cymbals in chorus are peaking a bit.
i'd cut some low end on bass kick and on guitars so the bass can fit better and a little more definition to the all mix is added.
I'd lower maybe 2 dbs on vocals.

I listened to Mix 3.

It sounds pretty good to my ears.

It seems that problems you may have had with earlier mixes have largely been resolved.

In the final mix, I dropped the vocals a couple dB, and tweaked the bass a little bit more. In mix 3, I felt the vocals were a little too loud, and the bass was a little TOO distinct. I added a little bit of low end to it. Fundamentally, this forum has been a huge help. You guys helped me fix issues, and I learned a lot in the process. I'll likely have the final mix uploaded in the next day or so. I'll post here again when it's uploaded!

Last mix! I dropped the vocals by roughly 2 dB, and eq'd the bass a little more to make it stand out a little less.

Lyrics are surreal but they suit the song and the style of music. I'm gonna have to start writing about more esoteric topics. The Coffee Song never really took off.

Everything was sitting real nice in this mix. Maybe vocals up a 1/2 to 1 dB, but that really is judgement call. Nice mix.

The guitars are sweet and spot on, at a first listen ,vocals will benefit a bit more gain(at least for my old ears , other than that the mix is nicely done.
