my first "client"

so this weekend i had a band in to record and here is part of the fruits of our labor. it's really the first thing that i've recorded that isn't either one of my projects or me recording a friend and playing on their music.

it's a sort of rocking post punk affair. the singer really impressed me by having very good pitch and a rather rich voice.

The bass has a mid-to-high frequency tone to it that really accentuates the pick noise in an annoying way occasionally (like during the intro). Also the snare seems a little thin for my taste, making it sound a little too high in the mix to me. Sounds great overall, though! The singer reminds me of Guided By Voices.

i know what you mean on both counts. bass and snare. i wish that i could have done more with the snare but the drummer wanted it to sound like his actual drum does, which isn't good. but yeah thanks for the comments. i'm pretty proud of it even with it's faults.

I enjoyed it as is. To me you did a very credible job. I guess if I pulled this up on the studio monitors I may find some nits but I leave that to you.
