My first all analog recording 'Come Together'

Besides being mixed to an Alesis Masterlink CD recorder it was all analog.

Its a test song so the performance could be better especially in the beginning versus. Im not always in the pocket either with the bass and drums. But enough of the obligatory excuses:)

I mainly wanted to test the sonic qualities my new 25 year old TASCAM 388. I've been a Pro Tools guy for a couple of years now so this is all kind of new.

Tell me what you think it needs for improvement. I'm not sure my mixing monitors are adjusted correctly but you tell me. The bass was tricky.

yep...it was good and it did sound very analog...you did a good job ....

liked it much!!

I just updated it. I lowered the highs on the drums. I didnt realize how bad the snare sounded until i played it in my car loudly. i also tried to fix some level issues on the vocals.
 
Nice version, especially that nice little twisted part on the bass at the ending!

cool song...overall the level is low, but that about all i can say. i like the harmonies, and the way you made the song your own. Nice job.

Sounds cool to me - in the intro the guitar sounded a little muddy but was much clearer soon after.
Is there a grace note missing in the bass line? Or you've run them together really smoothly.
Good analoguing esp when the 2nd vocal comes in.
 
Mix-wise, sounds a little muddy in some places, not crazy about the bass sound (playing is good though). Sounds kind of dull/lacking something.

Vocals sound good. Other guitars sound good too. I like it.

Ending was a little abrupt though...

could the level be low just because there is no compression on the mix down??
