Damn...great stuff. Just ordered a few copies. One for me, and a couple to hand out to folks who come over to my studio and doubt the quality of "home recording." Congrats!

Thanks man...please let me know what you think of it...and if youve bought a few copies and want another few freebies let me know WS??

If youve bought more than two, naked ladies hand deliver them!

Or so ive been led to believe ;)

A) I've always been impressed by your stuff here on the forum, so I'd buy this CD sight unseen, and B) I sampled all the tunes on CDBaby and my opinion from "A" was confirmed, but C) when the CDs arrive, I'll give the whole production a few focused listens and share my thoughts.

I bought three, so I'm counting on the naked lady part of the deal.

I meant laddie, not lady, my ipad doesnt spellcheck Scottish sorry :(

Thanks again man

It seems like my buying 2 was a blessing. I've no need to see a pair of ginger nomdeplumes jammed into the mail slot!
My 2nd one is a) to take to work and blast at the kiddies during lunch & then b) to pass onto a nephew with good taste in doof doof. he can blast it out on his sound system on the way to work - I'll let you know how dubstep sounds booming from a Vespa!

Laddie, lady, whatever. Any scrap of bread will do for a starving man, eh?

youd have to be starving to take to naked scotsmen...ginger nuts anyone?? :D

ha ha, luckily its not to bassy or it may knock his vespa over! mine were never very stable :)

It just arrived today :D:D (pretty quick actually for USPS) and it sounds abso-freakin'-lutely beautiful.

I've only been able to listen to the first 4 tracks so far, but I'm going to go straighten up the "studio" and will play the rest as I work. On the big Polk tower speakers it really takes on a life of its own. So much depth and breadth to the sound. It sounds as if you're working with a larger canvas than I even have available to me. Really very well done. There is nothing remotely home-made sounding about this to me. Everything has a place and sounds purposeful and focused.

I forgot that Rob sang on that one tune...he sounds great, as does Joey.

P.S. - If I'd known that naked laddies would hand deliver my CDs if I bought more than two, I would absolutely have still bought one copy. That may not be as good a selling point as you might think...

lol....naked laddies only have a specific fan base :)

Im glad it sounds good to you...I dont actually own a hi fi system outside of the car, I have a DJ set up but it goes through nearfields as well, I think a commercial system is the real test for our CDs

If it sounds non home made I have to say that a large part of that is Jans work, hes more than the mastering engineer, hes an official set of ears. Theres a couple of mixes he couldnt do much with without me starting from scratch, he'd never say that, but I already knew it. One day I hope to master my own stuff but until then Jans worth every cent

:eek::eek:

KC - just a thought. I'm sure I've read somewhere in the past that selling via CD Baby is an accepted pre-requisite for getting your work onto itunes too. May be something worth considering for broadening your selling base.

Thanks for your kind words too Heat - I loved that song from first time I heard it, so great to be a part of.

its on itunes, and amazon etc....the only thing is they have their own price structure, where i sell a download for $4.99 on CDBaby theyre selling it for $9.99...I doubt anyone wants to pay $9.99 for it

but its there :)

Mine isn't here yet....

Could CD Baby have been lying about the private jet? :laughings:

I just bought mine, along with some other CD's. Ordered ground shipping so I can see the tracking. I think it's worth the extra $4

Hey thanks man, please lemme know if you enjoy it, or any thoughts

Do you buy much from them?

I had to post a few of my own, and with the packaging it wasnt much different from theirs...especially the ones that leave the US...they were coming in at around $7.20, and $3.80 on domestic, P&P...makes the download seem like good value

I actually created an account just to buy from you lol. I've been meaning to get a Grisha Goryachev CD and it happened to be on CD baby.

I'll definitely let you know what I think.

Standard shipping for me was a little over $4 and Ground was a little over $8

I agree with KC about Jan's ears.
I've an album's worth of Pygmy Beat mastered but haven't done anything with it yet. The "stem" mastering of most & stereo mastering of a couple by Jan has created greater clarity, cohesion & oomph. The songs also sound like they belong together which is no mean feat for a bunch of tracks recorded across 25+ years.
I also asked for & was given the head shake when tracks weren't up to sonic measure.
My CD's didn't find their way to the letter box today.
Oh well, until they do that'll make the anticipation of arriving home each day all the sweeter!

My CDs arrived just a few minutes ago.
I've transferred them to jewel cases, (took the plastic less option), & now for the CD walkman (the wife's in the living room watching The Bold & The Beautiful so I won't get to play the disc loudly until that's well over.

No sign of mine yet... but if ray's have made it to Aus, perhaps mine are kicking round the internal mail where i work... fingers crossed, or I'll have to hunt ray down and burn a copy from his. I'm sure he's close!:)
