KC, I'm made up for you man having it all finally finished. Can't wait to hear it in full :D

I have a whole cupboard full of extras from three CDs...

I've never bought anything from CD Baby before - their "we've sent your order" email is an absolute classic:

"Thanks for your order with CD Baby!

USPS

(1) Super Jakes: Scary Munters & Super Jakes

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing. Our world-renowned packing specialist lit a local artisan candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, July 13, 2012.

We hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. In commemoration, we have placed your picture on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sigh...
We miss you already. We'll be right here at Discover and Buy Indie Music | MP3s, CDs, and Vinyl | CD Baby Music Store, patiently awaiting your return."

I'm still chuckling...

lol...thats pretty funny

they seem like a cool bunch, i know its just marketing shit but even their emails are pretty relaxed

Bought one tonight - shipping was the same as the CD :p No worries though - that's the price so you pay it! Will add to my truck rotation CD's once received. The best part is that I get a set of .wav files which IMHO is a million times better than the MP3. Can't wait!

Thanks Jerry, lemme know what you think of it..l dont understand why their shippings so pricey...cheeky buggers :(

I wonder what the US shippings like

I wonder what the US shippings like

It was only $3.00 and change for USPS.

My wife saw the charge today and was like, "What? That's like the price of a real CD"...ouch :p.

Sorry. I assured her that it is in fact, real.

Yeah the CDs real...the music aint lol...i shouldve made it $5, i didnt realise shipping would be so steep, its not like i make any money of it....lucky im hugely independently wealthy due to some smart investments in the Asian Markets ;)

wow super ouch. i'll probably order mine tomorrow. i know my dude will like it, that's for sure.

The postage charge isn't much considering it's O.S. and has to be packed. Most mail order mobs make their profit in the P&H section. I can't argue with a business making a living & planning for the future - so long as it's not aiming at making a killing!
Armistice, I should've contacted you so we could share postage but then again iternal post for a small parcel would've been about $3 PLUS the packing.

How do I get a dated/signed and autographed copy? Gonna be worth millions!

I'm digging the 12/8 feel of track 8. That is refreshing. If it makes you feel any better I have yet to finish a song completely. I usually include guitar and saxophone somehow too, plus the computer which makes this so "painless" confuses and distracts. Reconsidering my approach I am going to start working in smaller steps. Maybe ADD? Congrats, feels good I imagine. Now on to the next bit.

Yeah i think if your overseas downloads are the best option for albums, in fact its prolly the best option anyway. I doubt homerecorders sell more than a dozen anyway, unless your Greg and his sterling charity work. I like having the physical CD but it is pricey...even the CD shipping boxes are a buck or two before they add on postage.

I have over forty finished tracks, its just getting ten or so together that actually sound like they were recorded with a similar sound...even on this there are one or two id prolly replace but you have to stop somewhere, or youd never release anything. Im halfway through an EP, i think thats an easier way to go. Maybe look at getting four cohesive songs together, then you get the fun part of making a cover and pretending youre an actual musician :D

I'm more than happy to have a physical artifact. Now, you should've considered your fan base & had the option for the autographed copy. BUT what would you sign - nondeplume or nomdethistle?

I could send a picture if what I wear under my kilt? nomdeplums!

Yeah I like the CD Baby email receipt too - lighthearted and funny - nice touch! :D

Damn...great stuff. Just ordered a few copies. One for me, and a couple to hand out to folks who come over to my studio and doubt the quality of "home recording." Congrats!
