Modesty? I was just kidding around, I figured I'd been on this board for long enough for people to know that. Besides I get bored of everyone saying "Listen to this song please". I'm just trying to add some variety.

Cool arrangement. I like the clapping and backwards bits.

When the rhythm guitar comes in, I get this way muddy bass saturation.

Parts of the vocal sound cool, VERY reminiscent of Meat Puppets, but most of the time, the voice in the left channel doesn't go too well with the right. The right sounds pretty good.

The drums sound good overall but seem to be in a separate space and maybe a little low during the vocal parts.

THe mix sounds kinda muddy for lack of a better word. I think you should add some reverb to the vox.

I could not really hear the kick drum.

I could not really hear the bass either.

Now the song is really funky which is good.

I think the song is great but there's some changes that could be made concerning how it was mixed.

I like the song's melody and the overall feel of the song, can't wait till you throw another one at us cause i'll definately give it a listen.

RoystY: Hey not bad, man! Your mansun influences are again evident on this track. I like the sound of the guitar, but the drums recording is pretty weak. Are you micing the room here? The higher vocals sound OK, but the lower vocal sounds muddy and could use some compression. I might consider chopping a few minutes off the length of the tune, it doesn't hold up long after 3 minutes. You're doing brit pop, and a pop tune like this needs more variety to hold the listeners attention for over 5 minutes which is where you're at now. You've got a great thing going here though, keep it up.

What I like about your recording is that everything blends nicely. The bass isn't to loud, the voices come through plain, and I could hear all the cymbels and little things.
You did a really good job mixing that. It all came with the sound of quality.

Nice song. I wondered how you mic-ed the drums. They sound too far off and there's too much "room" sound, I think. I figured maybe you didn't mic them individually but only used a couple of mics in the room. I'd try to give them a closer sound. I thought the bass drum was too low; maybe this was a result of not micing it directly?
The overall blend is good, as someone said, and maybe this is because the guitar blends well and is not too obtrusive like is often heard.
I hate to comment on vocals too much because that's a particularly subjective area (and sometimes touchy). But I can't help wondering what this song would sound like with a single vocal instead of the harmony. I know it's probably an integral part of the song's sound. But there were some places where the two vocals sounded out of tune with each other, although some other places sounded fine. I'm always a stickler for tuning, and I'm not real knowledgeable on brit pop so take it with a grain of salt.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I just used one SM58 to mic the entire drum kit so that explains the "roomy" sound. I particulary appreciate the mixing comments, first time I've had compliments on my mixing!

Overall I really like the song ... A few things on it ..

the drums are a little irritating ....

and your lyrics seems to hmmm ... I dont know how to describe what I mean ... they had no depth ... I dont know if you can understand what I am trying to say ..lol.. maybe one of these expert guys can tell it in words for me .. lol

the recording level on the song is great ...

maybe a little work needed on you blending ...
