This mix is worse then my first one I just realized. I have to redo this later tonight.

The links dead too.
Pooh.
I liked the original title - a bit weirder. Like Eyes Wired Open instead of eyes wide shut.

You still have everything stacked up in the middle.

Are you leaving the amp buzz in for effect?

Put a de-esser on the vox.

:D

I'm afraid it is. You may have tracks panned, but the way you are panning is leaving them pretty much stacked in the middle. Listen to it again. Also, you need to correct your editing. The guitar moves due to phase issues in different parts of the song (caused by the edits).

In parts of the song, EVERYTHING is within the middle third of my stereo field - most of it is within the middle 10%. In other parts the guitars spread out, which is kinda odd to begin with, but as I said above, I think it's the edits, and the way you have them panned.

I'm not trying to bust your chops, just trying to help you to see. You did ask for help, right? :D

Edit - You don't happen to be mixing on headphones do you?

I suck at life. I need to start recording full takes huh?

No im not using phones to mix. Im using the really shitty tascam 100 dollar monitors that are just basic speakers.

No, just need to keep the phase coherant between the various takes.

You should be able to hear everything stacked, and then the guitars move out in parts, then back in in other parts on monitors. I thought headphones, because you wouldn't have the phasing issues with phones....

Can you open Cubase SX3 projects?

What exactly are phasing issues and how do I nip them in the bud? I only have cubase le soo im not sure if that can open sx3 projects.

I can't listen to the song cause the link is no good. I can tell you that if you do a search on phase, phase cancelation etc. you will find all kinds of info.
I can't define it for your situation because I can't hear the song. It can be that two seperatly recorded track played together are giving you a flange effect that is undesirable or that you have duplicated a track and off set it and they are canceling each other out to some extent. sound waves are just that, waves. if one track has guitar and the waves are up at the same point another track of the same guitar has the wave down there are issues. In theory they cancel each other out given they have equal and opposit values.
Think of it this way. If you have one signal telling your speaker to push out and a nother signal telling it to pull in and the signals are of the same source and frequency at the same exact time they would cancel each other out.

You know when you draw a figure of a woman in mid air with your index fingers..... There you go.Waite women are phase cancelation! God I can't believe I just figured this out. They are telling me to push in and pull out at the same time!!!!!!! Sorry.

I just love giving terrible explinations;)
