My ears are ringing/hurting

I've just started using LMMS and it's pretty fun but my ears have starting ringing and I have no idea why. I use a pair of tiny speakers w/ a small subwoofer set to a low volume, and my ears are hurting like hell. Could it be caused by bad quality speakers/subwoofer?

The quality of a set of speakers won't actually hurt your ears at low volume. It is probably something else that coincidently happened at the same time.
