Drums - First Attempt
Hey guys.
I was just messing around with these crappy "Mark II" drums I got wen I was about 6 years old. 10 years later I bring them up to my room (studio, if you will) and decide to mic em up. I don't have an interface, so I just mixed the mics as best I could on my mixer. I processed the kit as a whole in Reaper. This wasn't really something to show off skill, just a sound test. Anyway, how does it sound?
I plan on buying a better kit, better mics, and an interface soon.
Mics:
Overheads - MXL 990, MXL 991 (I know they should be a matched pair)
Kick - Shure SM58

i like the open airy sound; would sound good for certain types of music. im not 100% crazy about the snare. it would sound a little harsh through headphones.
