Hi!
I've been having the following problem for a while. Whenever i pause playback and wait for a while, the cpu-meter jumps 20-30 % right up until the moment I press play again.
Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else. The big problem is when I'm editing cpu-heavy projects. I can't afford to have the meter around 70% cause when the meter jumps when I pause the computer freezes...
My computer has the following specs;
2,6 gHz Celeron, 1,5 Gb ram, audiophile 2496.

Any helpers out there... Thanx :confused:

How many plugins being used? Any VSTI's? Some plugins can really gobble up cpu... VSTI's too.

Bill

FX Freeze is a DAW CPU resource management tool, which will help you forget about CPU, RAM or poliphony shortage problems while working with VST instruments and/or FX.

Get rid of the Celeron and install a P4 if your mobo will accept one.

I had the worst problems with VSTi's I ended up reformating and reinstalling because even after uninstalling the VSTi's and turning them off, I still had the Lag problem when transfering audio from my alesis. who would have known? lol
