Hello,

I just recieved my MobilePre USB audio interface and mic today. I got everything set up and installed. I can't get my computer to record from the preamp. I can't even get sound to my somputer's speakers. I can hear sound when I plug my headphones into the preamp though, so I know it works.

What do I do?
Any suggestions?

And by the way, Yes the default recording devive is set to the preamp.

hey

Well hopefully you'll be up-and-running soon. I own a USB sound capture device as well.

Alright, could you provide some details?

Start with:

- What audio editing software are you using?
- Have you selected the mobile pre usb from within that same audio software?

The Windows standard recording device may very well be your USB device, however the audio software that you use to record must also be configured to use the USB device.

(Usually, there's an option menu, perhaps called 'preferences' or 'options'. Check it out and get back to us.)

More Info

Well,

I've tried Audacity, Goldwave, and Cakewalk Pyro 5. None have worked. I did select Mobile Pre as the recording device to use in the recording software's preferences.

Also, if I go to the "Voice" tab in "Control Panel" < "Sounds and Audio Devices," and I do the "Test Hardware..." test, I do not see any movement in the voice meter, and when I click next it says that my voice was not detected. Again, the preamp was selected to be the device used.

I also tried using another USB port. As I had expected, that did nothing.

Hopefully that gives you some more information. I am a big tecie and usally know how to resolve problems quickly. Strangely enough, this has confused me.

Thanks for helping,
Mark

If you can select from among several drivers, try each to see which ones work with your system. My USB interface is very sensitive to which driver meshes with which rec software and OS I use it with.

It Works!

Thank-you to everyone who helped me. I now got it to work. I downgraded my m-audio driver to a really old one, and ever since then, I've been recording just perfectly. You'd think that the newer ones would work better, but I guess not (for my computer at least).

You guys are a lot more hepfull than m-audio support. I haven't gotten anything back from them yet.

Thanks again,
Mark
