I have a Tascam 424, and its great for what i want. But when i get to recording the 4th Track (after doing 1,2 and 3), I get recordings 1, 2 and 3 all on the 4th one as well. I REALY want all the channels to be individual so I can EQ them and do the levels in 1 unit.

This happens when i go direct as well, so it cant be bleading for the headphones or what not.

It happened when i tryed multitracking on the PC as well, i was going direct.

What do i need to do?

I had a portastudio that started doing that one day and I never could get it fixed. I took it to an authorized repair center twice and sent it to Teac twice. They never acknowledged that there was a problem. I told them to try actually recording something with the thing and they would know what I was talking about. Nope, wouldn't do it. I asked them if they recorded anything with it and they wouldn't give me a straight answer..........gave me some crap about running test tones thru it. I've hated Teac since then. :p

Good luck! :D

p.s. - the asshats told me that i needed an sm57 rather than my audio technica dynamic.

Pan channels 1 - 3 to the left and take them out of bus mode if you haven't already.
