Pending the quality of the tights ... you may want to double up the fabric.

Then hide it for a week or two till your mum is finished looking for them and writes them off as a tights eating dryer monster episode. ;)

I cant have any permanent panels in, so they need to be able to move around, so would the way people normally make acoustic panels to hang on a wall, make them stable enough to stand up, or would I need to do something about that?

Granted, I haven't held the stuff in my hands yet, but I'm hoping it's light enough to hang like a painting. :)

My sister gave them to me actually, and yeah I used the top of the tights where they are thicker

That would be good, we'll have to ask someone. But just thought of another thing too, the room I record drums is in the basement. My mum and dad are very fussy with putting paintings and stuff up on the walls encase it hits a water pipe or something.

The whole pack weighs in at 14 kg Steeno.
You should be able to hang it like a painting mate. I'll sort post asap mate, probably next week now. Its a busy time for me sorry.

Tell me you didnt use the gusset Ollie. All i'd be able to think of is lady gardens singing into that thing lol.:spank:

Get a local builder or diy enthusiast to lend you a pipe / cable/ stud finder then where ever you plan to put the hanging bracket check the area and look for obvious signs like a plug socket below or a sink on the other side of the wall , depending on your building of course.

My son did this (burst the water pipe) when he installed a mirror above his sink
He just never saw it coming lmao.

I made my first panel today. It was dead easy. 3 more to go plus bass traps.

I didn't tell my singer that :D

don't quite understand what you meant with the local builder/diy enthusiast bit?

if you beg borrow or buy a stud finder it will help you locate the pipe work within the walls so you dont burst a pipe while mounting the acoustic panels on the walls ok.

Oh, I just googled what a stud finder is, seems pretty cool. However I just remembered we used to have some pictures on one of the walls so I can just use those to perhaps put 1 or 2 panels up

Hi Guys & Gals; this is what I came up with being a cheap-O. Made with a 6 1/2" speaker grill it helps quiet a bit. You can also put a piece of nylon in between frame & grill - if you can get them off your wife, girlfriend - boyfriend ........ DSCN1980.webpDSCN1982.webp.
Might have trouble finding those fancy holders (rubber bands)

I just put the tightys over my head ...... no need for a frame.

Back in 87 I saw this idea and used it to great effect. Got into a little trouble because I stole the wife's new tights and of course she needed them the next day -typical:)
