I sit on you.
I've actually just recently joined up with these 2 fellas, so we've yet to record any full-band material. (I'm their percussionist/drummer) Coming soon! I can't wait, it'll be awesome stuff!
Anyhoo, only thing we've got up right now is on MySpace. They recorded this stuff at their home studio. Nice little ProTools setup.

I just want to know what you all think about the band. Most of the songs were recorded by our "frontman" Jacob, who also plays guitar.

What do you think overall? Like it or not?
Song Structure/Lyrics?
Vocal and instrument performance?

I want to make sure I'm not blowing these guys up to more than they are! I might just be desperate for new musical projects. If ya'll like any of this material, just wait. Wait till we have everything going with a complete band.....oh man. :D

Here's the link

Nightmare sounds pretty good. I really like the song structure. It could probably use some tweaking, but I can't provide any specific tips....it sounds good, but this is a pretty decent tune, and some tweaks would really make it sound great.
I think you got some good stuff here, and can make it better with a bit of massing with. Sounds very good to me man...

Only played Nightmare.

Sounds cool. Singing style is cool. Guitar playing is cool. Vocals are a little upfront during the yelling Nightmare part. But that's just minor.

Band sounds OK. Have fun.

:)

I apologise for what I'm about to say...
When the guitars started, I thought this is gonna be good. But then the vocals came in and I had a Nickelback Nightmare. But hey, you might be going for that sort of sound...

Hey, no offense taken. I'm actually glad you said that. I'm trying to help him find his "real" voice. I thought he sounded more like Aaron Lewis from Staind myself!

BTW, Demons is a better song.....it'll be one of the "debut" songs. :D

Take anything I say with a grain of salt.

The vocals are a little piercing.

I like the guitars though.

I don't think the vocals sound too bad myself - I agree with you that he sounds a bit like that guy from Staind. A little polish and the vocals should be just fine. Some interesting sounding songs there, which should be even more interesting when you add in your percussion parts and other instrumentation. In my opinion this stuff would sound best if you keep the music dynamic, alternating between louder fully instrumented parts and some softer acoustic sections (such as what they have posted at the moment). Personally, I believe too many of the younger modern rock bands are ruining their recorded music these days by slamming everything at maximum volume (this is partly the fault of "loudness" mastering and partly the song arrangements). I can hear the potential in this music to really rock without making that mistake - something to keep in mind as you go forward. Good luck with this - I hope you'll post some songs with the full band eventually.

Thanks man! You basically took the words outta my mouth! All 3 of us want to be able to go from a Hard Rock sound to a Folk/Acoustic Rock sound seamlessly. I'm really diggin these guys'!

I'm actually physically shaking just thinking about it. There's no doubt we'll have some full band stuff within the next month or so....

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA

IM SO HAPPY!!!!

C'mon, I wanna hear more opinions. ANY opinion is welcomed! :D

Hi Jayke!! I listened to all of the songs.

Perhaps if he tried singing in a different key? His voice sounds strained.

The guitars are pretty good. Seems you have a good start here.

When will you put some drums to it?

Good luck Jayke...I am happy for ya!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Where are those user bars for the G.F.C.G. members? :D

I'd kill for a singer like that.
Good voice. Good guitars. Even if this is really not my cup of tea.
Vocals were a bit upfront..
For some two seconds I thought of alice in chains in there during "Nightmare"

Gah!!!! I'll get them out eventually. My best excuse is being artistically drained! :D

Oh, thanks for the comments, they're much appreciated.

I'm very anxious to get some "full band" recordings down, but we're not confident enough with some of the songs....seem to be missing something. Truthfully, most of the songs are becoming new and fuller with percussion. I'm beginning to experiment with some electronic drumming, triggers, samples, etc. Things are taking off, so we'll begin recording once we've got our sound to an art...kinda! ;)

I actually like the singer.

The song is good and the feel is good. It's a little sloppy i.e. the background vox really arent with the lead. I would get real good at editing, there is a lot you can do with it. Keep it up, I like where it is headed.
