My amplifier (for unpowered speakers) is noisy. What's an affordable replacement?

My electric guitar pickups hear massive noise from it, even with aluminum already inside the guitar. I could add more, but I want to eliminate the problem.

Unfortunately, all the amplifiers I find (that are made for musicians) are massive, like 150w. I probably need 10-20w. (Bedroom.)

I currently have a "LP-2020A+".

At the worst, if I can't find something small, I suppose I could just buy a used mixer with speaker power.

(Sound Card >> Mixer >> Speakers.)

Thanks.

Way too little info.
What sort of pups
what sort of amps
what sort of noise
what sort of mixer
what sort of volume
what sort of cable what sort of signal choain at presnet etc etc etc etc etce tcetectcetctectcetcetdctec?

Update: Practically everything in my recording room is making noise. I turned off the Lepai amp (listening using headphones) and found other sources, like my Fast Track Ultra.

I'm curious if maybe a power wire (it's all coming through extension chords) is at fault.

Single coil.
It sounds like a buzz.
I have no mixer yet.

Signal Chain: Guitar > Sound Card (Fast Track Ultra) > Lepai Amplifier > Sony Speakers.

Copper foil is the preferred material for cavity lining and isolation.
I thought aluminium was for your head and keeping aliens'n'the FBI from reading your mind.
Single coils always hum or make noise - it's part of their "charm".
Is the amp the MONITOR amp? or a guitar amp?
CRT screens and even flat monitors can cause noise from single coils as well.'Shouldn't your signal chain be guitar > amp > mic > interface > monitors/headphones ???

You can also try putting something between you and the potential sound interference things.

hang some heavy blankets or use a peice of plywood or similar to separate your guitar from the amp/spakers/screen/monitors.

>Copper foil

That's probably what it is.

I don't have a "amp" like that. I'm trying to record direct. My "amp" is a 4 inch box that powers unpowered speakers.

Anyways, my first experiment will be to replace the power extension wires.

If you're trying to DI buy yourself a cheapish DI box with ground loop switch etc.
Something like the Behringer BDI21 is made for bass but is very useful as a DI generally and has tone knobs etc. It'll set you back AUS$40ish but is a great investment. I use it for bass and guitar.
Or just a passive or active standard DI box - you'll use it a lot anyway but it'll also help you get the right sort of signal to you DAW. It may be that the input on the interface you are using doesn't cope with HiZ inputs - have a read through the manual and find out where they recommend you put an electric guitar.
Your 1st post is a bit all over the place in terms of information so I apologise for my misinterpretation.
Does the guitar make any noise when plugged into a guitar amp? Visit a friend and find out. It's important.
Borrow a couple of guitars - another single coil and one with humbuckers and suss out whether the problem is your guitar or your gear set up.
