Well its finally arrived, been on order here in the uk for 5 months. I was trying it along with my Ridge Farms gas cooker di pre amp and results are pretty good on my acoustic guitar. I was wondering if i would get a better fingerpicked sound using solid state pre amps rather than valve ones?. I was amazed by the difference a new set of strings made on the sound of the recording. Any hints or tips on positioning the mic, i've probably placed it in a million different ways anyway. Thanks for the info from you guys, i'm glad i paid a bit more and purchased this mic over some of the other brands. I'm now in the market for a good female vocal mic, any ideas? I'll post some guitar and AKG C451b soundfiles soon just for fun!

get some Exilir nylon coated acoustic strings. They're a bit pricey but once you try them you'll never turn back

He's right ya know! Also try the mic at the twelfth fret pointing at the soundhole

I usually find a sweet spot about 1" below the treble side of the bridge. Another thing I've done is put on phones, then have a friend slowly move the mic around the body of the guitar while I play, and listen for the tone you want.

For not a huge investment, the SPC3 is supposed to be killer on female vocals. YMMV.
