Hello all,
I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with acidplanet.com, but they have some very cool remix contests from time to time. Right now, the Baldwin Brothers (Chicago) have a tune called "Dream Girl" that is presently the subject of the contest.
That's actually my friend Jimmy on the bass, by the way. Anyway, I downloaded the individual tracks (which were zipped and downloaded). From there, I kinda' came up with this funk version. You can also listen to the original at acidplanet.
What encourages me is that I truly believe my remix stands up well to their actual mix, which I'm assuming was professionally done. It's a different spin, for sure. After listening to the other submissions, I am also quite happy that mine competes VERY well in terms of the quality of mixing and "mastering." I hope I don't sound arrogant. What I mean is I've put in a lot of work to improve my mixes, and Im very happy with my progress.
Second song down: Dream Girl. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
