mxlv69 needs repair. Any suggestions? Gidge?

Hey folks, I've had my MXLV69 for about two years and I've loved it but recently it started crackling and popping. I was wondering if any of you microphone connosuiers had any suggestions for an affordable repair of cheaper studio tube mics. Thanks, Chris

It is hard to tell what's the problem without listening to the kind of noise it makes. For the beginning, there might be two possibilities. First, the capsule got some moisture. Try to put the mic into a box with silica packs. If it doesn't help, most likely the problem is a tube. Replace it preferably with a good NOS one.

And BTW, first, check if the problem doesn't come from just bad (loose or dirty) connectors.
