I recently bought two (2) MXL63m's @ Mars. I was told (and I believed) they were the lastest and the greatest for the price. Since I have been subscribing to this forum, I haven't read any thing positive concerning these mics. Is there any? or did I waste my money. I basically bought them to do high mounted outdoor concerts (community bands) etc. Someone give me some guidance please!!!!

I use one as a drum OH for my cover band for live work and I like it. For the money, taking it out to gigs was a no brainer. I'm not sure if they'll work mounted high since I've never tried it. You may need a mic specifically for distant miking - depending on how far the source will be.
