Sorry if this specifically has been posted before maybe my search skills suck.

I read plenty on the V67 and V67g. The V67i I know has a bright/warm switch but I'm wondering if anyone has this and is using it for Voice-overs?

I just ordered one and I'm waiting for shipment.

Well, I guess I'll post results later this week when I get it! :)

Funny thing is I have seen threads about the 67i but I don't remember anyone steping up and saying they had it. I would love to hear from a regular 67 user on how the warm setting on the 67i compares with the 67g.

I guess that makes me a brave man... :)

If no one else does, I will reply by the end of the week and post results...
I'll probably compare the V67i to my NT1a, SM58, SM7 and maybe reference my old AT3035.

I think after ths one, I'm going to add a real mic to my mic locker. :D

I use the V67 (green) for voice-overs. It's not TOO bright. It works well
for my female vo partner who has some sibilance in her voice.

You might even call the mic a little "muddy"...but that's good because ALL
of my other condenser mics are too bright for vo.

I believe the V67i has a BRIGHT setting as well as the normal V67 tone.

I'm picking up my KEL HM-1 at the post office tomorrow, and I'll give you a
quick review on how it sounds for voice in a couple days.

Thanks Dewey. definately get back with that.

I actually love the NT1a for my VO. It's just I found the V67i for 115.00 (new) on ebay so I grabbed it. I'm actually using it in a music video we're shooting but after reading a little bit about it here and there, I might use it for Vo's if it sounds right.

Hm-1

So, I got my KEL HM-1. I do voice overs and have used RE-20, V67,
MXL2003, ATM25, SM7B, and AT2020.

I happy to report that the HM-1 is by far the best of the above bunch.
It's "thick" and there is NO sibilance! I don't know if you guys notice, but there's a ton of commercial voice overs, especially on radio, that just sound
nasty on the high end. Cheap condensers? Bad EQ?

The HM-1 would probably work great on some singers and instruments.

If you guys are looking for a condenser mic without the hyped high end,
buy an HM-1. It sounds a little like the SM7B...very warm. A 1/3 of the price.

I've spent a lot of money on fairly inexpensive mics. I'm passing on my experience to maybe save YOU the money.

I don't work for KEL...and I paid $100 for it.

I already have the SM7b... don't like it cause lack of warmth... The HM-1 might be the next mic i look into.

SM7B requires a good preamp. Needs a lot of level.

Results V67i

Well, I didn't have a shockmount that fit this mic so I used the clip it came with so It picked up a little noise.

As for the mic. It has a unique sound to it, I'm not sure if I'm crazy about it. I like the bright side better for my voice although the warm wasn't that much different. I'm going to keep testing and get a shockmount. I don't think I will like this mic more than the Rode NT1-a. I also think the AT3035 Sounded better, much cleaner. Again I will keep testing this mic over the weekend as I might be tired. For now, from the mics I've recently used, here are my favorite in order.

1 Rode NT1a
2 Shure SM7
3 SM58
4 AT3035 (I just sold it)
5 MXL v67i
6 RE-20

FYI

This mic needs a good shockmount, the clip it comes with picks up vibration from the mic stand and floor. The mic sound is warm, can be slightly muddy but a little eq fixes that.
