shockmounts, etc.
ausrock--actually, it wasn't exactly cross-stich hoops i used, at least, not in the traditional 2-piece hoop sense. these had a hard plastic inner ring and a rubber outer ring, which stretched real nicely over the elastics. in fact, i chose these over the plastic hoops which were right next to em. either way, i used the 3in size and that seems to have done a fine job. i actually have two of them against each other (per mic) which holds a little more firmly and gives the clip holder something a little more substantial to hold onto. we'll have to see what the longevity of the elastics is, but at ~$2 for 30 of em, i can go through a few sets before it becomes an expense. ;-) not a bad $6 investment.
DJL--yep, i more or less stole the idea from tapeop and merged it with the DIY "hoop and pantyhose" pop shield idea. imo, it works better than the pvc-only idea, and looks better too.....or at least, it will once i paint it all black. ;-) looks a little more "professional", i think....at least until you examine it a bit more closely and see that it's the boy scout in me coming out. i also wish i'd bought more and sold them for a profit on ebay, but frankly, i haven't seen too many 603's moving on there lately. i wonder if the increase won't actually bite em in the ass.
<<Also, I wonder how much it cost Feilo to make them... hummm.>>
a lot less than it would have for me to have made them, and that's all that matters when you boil it down, ya know?
