It is a life preserver
They sell these all the time on Reverb/Ebay. Trading hands. The Korg rack units that people always buy, when they are just beginning. Costing $50-100 working good examples. There are the 3 that look almost the same. 1 is Nice. 2 are stripped down budget junk. It isn't 1990 anymore. These are mainly tone generators, although they have basic effects good for the times. Thank Korg. All 3 have Bur Brown VAC's. Sound out the output will be nice and strong. Good for cinematic sounds, pads, rises, etc. NOT a Workstation. Shit a 2x16 2 line fax display and like 8 buttons. Fuck that. Here is what I got for ya, the one that is NICE.
The Wavestation SR is the correct one. That is a full featured unit and then some.
03R/W is a stripper model M1 regarded as junk
M3R is stripper budget model that sucks ass.
looking at these M3R specs in comparison might make you think, what's the point of a 1 oscillator synth? No, seriously?
okay you can split the NEC processor in Combi mode, halving polyphony (to 8 or less). There, 2 oscillators are available as an 'in parts' Combination.
People buy these because they want to enter the world of midi synthesis, and they are good for that. Tired of losing ownership of VST romplers. Only paying for access? Get REAL!
The WavestationSR is fantastic.
These all will be going up in value/price very soon..
The M3R is absolutely crap. Definitely not a 'Top Product'. Yet it is always at the top of the list. I am never wrong. AM I?
hahaha, Junk!
