MXL 1006 Shockmount question

I just recieved a Marshall MXL 1006 with the MXL 57 shockmount. Will the shockmount just screw on to any micstand. My micstand is in storage so I havent got it at home to compare, but it looks to me as if the shockmount connection is smaller than the threads on my micstand. Someone correct me on this if I am wrong.

It should work...Im pretty sure the mic stand threading is a standard..but dont quote me if everything goes wrong...

What you are seeing is probably a brass adapter screwed into the normal threads of the shockmount--its for smaller threads used in Europe. The good news is that the insert comes out with a screwdriver. Then you have normal threads for your mic stand.

I've had no problems with mine. And yes it does look like it is going to be too small. But it fits.
