I just read Geddy Lee's book My Effin' Life. And in it he said one of his best friends was Oscar Jr. I say was because he passed away. Oscar Sr was a legend.

Bit of trivia being an early KISS and early-ish ( until G/P era) Rush fan. Allegedly Gene Simmons wanted to hire Geddy to give him bass lessons. Geddy declined, likely due to different styles and ability levels, though I do dig Gene’s basic but only -point bass lines on the early albums.
