I use automation all the time, I absolutely love it.

What I don't love, is switching between different automation tracks.

Is there a way where I can view multiple automation tracks?
Something like this: puu.sh/1wwMv

Thanks guys.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Try highlighting the link, and then pasting the URL to the 'globe' looking thingy above.

:)

Wish I could, they don't let newbs post links.
Try this one:

Thanks Again

And, I'm not sure what you are asking, as the link shows Cubase automation. I thought your link was going to show something different. I'm confused??

not sure what you mean, multiple automation tracks like the volume, panning, effects, for one track all at once ?
or several tracks with their automation up at once?

I do several tracks at once, doing their volumes, then panning (if needed).

I have not found a way to get on track to show multiple automation that I can edit. I can view them but can't edit them... probably smart , because I might edit the wrong thing.

well, the link shows multiple tracks for volume, panning, etc... Actually his shows something slightly different, but that's what he's referring to... annnnd, i don't know how to do that.

Let me see....
> pulls up Cubase...
> Turns on brand new UAD Apollo interface (running on Win7, dontcha know)
> Opens latest mix
> Listens for a while... Oh yeah, your question

CubaseAT.webp

In the bottom left corner of teh opened Automation Track, if you hover, a plus sign will appear. Click that to open another automation track. Learn something new everyday.
Whew, that was a lot of work. Time for a beer.

glad you posted that.. but I still don't what to do all my automation like that, if I have a bigger project, I'd probably mess it up :).

I tell ya, I love automation. It is one of the biggest benefits of a digital recording studio. My philosophy is always to get teh performance right and set the levels correctly so I don't have to adjust througout the song. But that is never the case, especially when you have effects and doing some gimmicks, unique panning, and whatnot. Always have to make an adjustment during the song and automation is the way to go.

You are too cool man. Seriously.

I spoke of you earlier in another thread, not about you. :)

Here.

Actually the picture was just some clever editing.
Anyway i got it, thanks to Chili.
Guess i'll rtfm next time.

Thanks for the help guys.

I love automation too. Use it all the time but, when I'm working with levels , or pans, I don't need to see every bit of all automation up there.. I do effects auto, and eq auto, and pan auto, level auto.. I still like to work within one area and not confuse myself (because I have done this before, and it's not hard to do for me :). So I tend to work singularly trying to accomplish specific things I feel is needed. I don't need effects auto, up there if I am trying to gain adjust a hot spot on a track.
