MultimiX Firewire

I've troubles with my Multimix8 Firewire. I've reinstalling drivers everytime I restart my PC...
Someone help me????

Do a search in this forum. Alot of usefull info on this mixer.

You might try uninstalling your pc soundcard as its not really needed with the multimix. You pc may not be seeing your MM due to the internal sound card.

There is so much more. Do the search..good luck..

The problem is it had working until I touch something o I don't know what!!!!
I try unistalling this stuff, and reinstalling drivers, WinXP, etc.
And the same problem. When I restart, in the control panel not appears the MM. Only when I unplug and plug it, the PC "see" the MM.
Also, I will like to keep the sound card (it's integrated) for another things.

Have you intalled the latest drivers? Also the firmware for the mixer is suppose to remedy what you just described.

When I use my MM8 I always plug it into the PC first before powering up, then only after the PC is fully booted I power on the MM8 and monitors and its working great. I also did the driver upgrade and the XP 1394 speed patch from Microsoft.

I've installed the patch for the 1394 net, and it's working...at the moment.

What is the general opinion of this mixer?

I got an inquiry from a band, who wants to use it for modest recording and mixing chores.

Love it once you get all the bugs worked out.. Good PC, right firewire card, right update flash from Alesis... Expect to spend a day to a month figuring everything out though... I haven't heard of two people who have had exactly the same expirence with it yet..

I have worked with the MM whit my PC, Cubase, records Voices, Guitars, and it's working great. Like said Crash, you have good upgrade of firmaware, and XP, etc. For me, It's a good solutions for Home Studio.
