Hello all,
A couple weeks ago I bought a second delta 44 to go with the one I got a couple years ago. Anyways, this weekend I tried to install it with no luck. I installed the the drivers off the included CD, like I did the first time. That didn't work, it seemed to mess with original Delta 44. So I installed the latest drivers out on the M-Audio site. Now my original card seems to work fine for playing mp3s, assigning tracks to it in software, but not my standalone vst synth. The new card doesn't seem to be working at all. When I assign it to play mp3s using the "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the windows control panel, I don't hear any playback, and I don't see any playback on the monitor mixer also the program seems to almost hangup during playback. Same thing happens if I assign a track to playback using one of the channels on the new card in sonar. I don't seem to get anything from the new card going in or out, but again, the original card is working pretty much as it was before the new one was installed. In the "M-audio Delta Control Panel" both cards are there and have the same settings.
What's going wrong? The drivers appear to be installed correctly, is there any chance the hardware itself is messed up? Is there any way to test that? Though I don't think that is the case. I was under the impression when I bought it that multiple Delta cards work quite well together. Is there anyone who had a similar problem and found a solution? I guess I'll try tech support in a bit. Thanks for any tips if you have any.
btw, if it makes a difference, my comp specs are windows xp home, amd64 x2 3800+, 2 gigs ram.
